LSI MYC Dual Color, Break Apart Rearrangement Probe

Product Description

Probe Name Probe Location Fluorophore
Vysis LSI MYC 8q24  SpectrumOrange TM
SpectrumGreen TM
The region located 3' (telomeric) of the MYC gene is involved in the vast majority of chromosome 8 breakpoints for t(8;22)(q23;q11) and t(2;8)(p11;q24). The LSI MYC Dual Color, Break Apart Rearrangement Probe is a mixutre of one probe that lies telomeric of these expected breakpoints and another probe that is located 5' (centromeric) of the MYC gene.

The LSI MYC Dual Color, Break Apart Rearrangement Probe consists of the SpectrumOrange labeled 5' LSI MYC probe that begins 119 kb upstream of the 5' end of MYC and extends 266 kb toward the centromere. The SpectrumGreen 3' LSI MYC probe starts about 1.5 Mb 3' of MYC and extends toward the telomere for 407 kb.

Results of Hybridization

A normal nucleus hybridized with the LSI MYC Dual Color, Break Apart Rearrangement Probe produces a two orange/green (yellow) fusion (2F) pattern. A one orange, one green, and one fusion pattern (1O1G1F) is expected from a sample with a t(2;8), t(8;22) or t(8;14) having a breakpoint within the gap between the hybridization targets of the LSI MYC probes.

LSI MYC Dual Color, Break Apart Rearrangement Probe hybridized to an abnormal nucleus showing a one orange, one green and one orange/green fusion (1O1G1F) signal pattern.
