EBV PCR Kit Description
- Excellent Sensitivity
- Quantitative Assay
- Easy-to-use Real-Time PCR Kit
The EBV PCR Kit constitutes a ready-to-use system for the detection of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)DNA using real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in the ABI PRISM® 7000 Sequence Detection System (Applied Biosystems). The kit contains all reagents and enzymes for the specific amplification of a 97 bp region of the EBV genome. The amplicon is detected by measuring the FAM fluorescence in the ABI PRISM® SDS. In addition, the EBV PCR Kit contains a second heterologous amplification system to identify possible PCR inhibition. This is detected as an Internal Control (IC) by measuring VIC fluorescence. External positive controls are supplied which allow the determination of the pathogen load.

CE label
The EBV PCR Kit is CE marked according to the European IVD Directive 98/79/EC.
Excellent Sensitivity
EBV PCR Kit has been optimized to detect very low viral load down to 5.3 copies/µl.
Specificity
The specificity of the EBV PCR Kit is first and foremost ensured by the selection of the primers and probes, as well as the selection of stringent reaction conditions. The detectability of all relevant strains has thus been ensured, as well as the exclusion of cross-reactivity with other species.
Internal Control
The Internal Control allows the user both to control the nucleic acid isolation efficiency and to check for possible PCR inhibition. Optionally it can be used exclusively to check for possible PCR inhibition.
Quantitative Results
External Quantitation Standards of different concentrations (QS 1-4) are supplied for precise quantitation of the pathogen load.
Flexible Throughput
The instrument allows the handling of one sample up to 96 samples in one single run.
